Welcome to an award-winning makeover that has truly transformed a Warwick home! We’re excited to share the details of this project which received the prestigious first-place award in the Entry Level Deck category at the NADRA’s 2022 National+ Deck Competition.

Our client’s dream was to create a grand and welcoming entrance that would seamlessly blend with the style of her home and backyard. She desired an outdoor space that not only stood out but also felt like a natural extension of her home and backyard.

The project began with a careful demolition of the existing front porch, ensuring the roof structure remained intact and preserving the immaculate lawn and garden beds.

The transformation started to take shape as we replaced the undersized 4×4 columns with new, more substantial 6×6 columns. Wrapped in Versawraps, these columns added the grandeur our client was seeking.

The porch’s decking was upgraded to Deckorators Voyage in Khaya, creating a stunning visual contrast with the Timbertech Premier railings. The railings were fitted with LED Island Caps, which provide visibility and a luxurious touch when nighttime rolls around.

The true standout of this porch makeover was the extensive use of Versatex PVC trim. This material was used on the ceiling and soffit for a finished, indoor-outdoor feel. To add depth and texture, we incorporated a shaker-style detail to the stair risers — a small surprise we were sure the homeowner would adore. Skirting was done with 1×3 strips, adding to the elegant simplicity of the porch.

This award-winning transformation was achieved within a budget of $10,000-25,000. The homeowner’s vision of a grand entrance was brought to life, creating an inviting transition from the outdoors to the indoors. This project stands as proof that with the correct application of modern techniques and materials, even a modest budget can yield extraordinary results.
