The family’s original deck was a small, weathered wooden structure that lacked elegance and appeal. The staircase consisted of only two treads with no risers, making for an unsettling climb. Moreover, the fascia and railings had begun to reveal many shades of green – a clear indication that this worn-out veteran of a deck deserved a warm goodbye.
The first issue to address was the deck’s size. Being a small area, it wasn’t offering the family the space they needed to truly enjoy their time outdoors. We recognized the need for more space and increased the new deck’s dimensions.
For the decking, we chose to incorporate Deckorators Voyage decking in Sierra. This high-quality, visually appealing material was perfect for creating a welcoming and picturesque outdoor environment.
With the family’s comfort in mind, we expanded the stairway, bringing in an extra step and adding risers. This makes for a comfortable climb, eliminating the previously steep stairs. The newly revamped stairway now gracefully invites you to step onto the deck.
The Deckorators ALX Contemporary railing in Textured White matched the house’s existing gutters and siding beautifully. We equipped the railing’s post caps with built-in lights, perfect for creating an inviting atmosphere for late-night lounging.
To put the final touches on this transformation, we personalized their space with outdoor furniture and decorative planter boxes teeming with colorful blooms. The homeowners can now savor every sunrise, sunset, and every moment in between in a setting tailored to their lifestyle.
